Classic Word association
This is also called ‘word banking.’ One person says a word, and the player says the first thing that pops into their head.
First, ask your team to come up with terms that describe a theme, topic, or product. Create small groups of similar words or ideas. The goal is to break your project into manageable parts and form connections between different areas, which should help you create new ideas.
Alter-ego
Ask your team to think about how someone else would address a challenge or solve a specific problem.
Considering other perspectives is integral to understanding problems and other users concerns that may not be clear at the start of your project. Assuming you know every perspective can hinder creativity and prohibit lateral thinking.
Idea swapping
Come up with a question or topic, and ask each person to do a short amount of research. Next ask every team member to present their research findings. The point of idea swapping is to give your team a specific amount of time to think critically and prepare ideas, so you’re starting with some knowledge before generating higher quantity.
