Meet Quentin

Quentin Felton (they/them) is a Brooklyn-born writer, creator, and administrative consultant for PLAY PATTERN. With wide-ranging experience in non-profit work, Quentin has previously served as an intern at the Hispanic Information and Telecommunications Network (HITN). Since working under Ed Greene—former VP of Children, Youth and Digital Media Literacy Initiatives —Quentin has continued to witness the importance of investing in a community’s future through the development of educational services, all meant to instill a sense of empowerment and civic engagement.

Forever interested in melding professional work with creative passions, Quentin has spent the majority of their college career exploring the many modes of resistance Black Art has taken throughout history. With a majority of their undergraduate studies focused on poetry, Quentin’s academic success culminated in being awarded the Brooklyn College’s “Burton A. Goldberg” American Academy of Poets 2020 College and University Prize for their own work.

Most of their time at HITN has been spent reviewing, refining, and formatting various curriculum documents for HITN’s Digital Storytelling Workshop. Done with the aid of smartphone devices, the workshop unlocked the many ways that one can utilize the natural skill of storytelling. Quentin brings this mission to the PLAY PATTERN team, looking to engage this ever-changing media landscape by bridging communities through the innovative tool of project- based learning.
